Welcome to Envirocom
EnviroCom is a recover/recycling business that was started by eight BBA2 entrepreneurship students in 2011.
We as a group decided to start this type of business because we have identified the need to recover paper in our communities and also in the surrounding communities where we live. What we noticed was that people as well as small community shops tend to throw away large amounts of paper/cardboard.
The group/business decided that we will mainly recover white office paper because it has a higher return alongside other types of recyclable paper. This will be beneficial for the business because as full time students we have limited time. Therefore, it would be difficult for us to spend extra time collecting the other type of recyclable materials.
EnviroCom aims to provide these communities as well as the small community shops with containers which they can use to store the papers/cardboard that they throw away. This is just one of the methods in which we will use to collect paper/cardboard from communities.
The other method we plan on introducing is the knock and drop method. This method requires EnviroCom to go into a certain community and provide those households with black plastic bags which they will use to store the paper/cardboard they no longer use until we collect them.
In the long run EnviroCom would like to expand its client base so that the business can have more people supplying the business with paper such as universities, hospitals, corporates, schools, banks and more households. In order for EnviroCom to do this we would have to market the business so that people can find out about the work that we are doing in the communities.
While the recovery/recycling business is operating we will be having a five cent campaign running concurrently with the recycling businesses. This phase will allow EnviroCom to raise funds for all the additional expenses the business might incur while operating the business.
